Open Access Journal on Intelligent Manufacturing & Industry 4.0

Aims

Engineering Intelligence and Innovation (EII) aims to serve as an international platform for high-quality research on intelligent manufacturing and Industry 4.0-oriented engineering systems. The journal seeks contributions that advance fundamental understanding, propose novel methods, or demonstrate impactful applications in real-world industrial contexts.

Scope

The scope of EII covers theoretical, methodological, computational, and applied work related to intelligent engineering and manufacturing. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Smart factories and cyber-physical production systems
  • Intelligent manufacturing system design and architectures
  • Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), sensing, and data acquisition
  • Data-driven diagnostics, prognostics, and predictive maintenance
  • Scheduling, optimization, and control of production and logistics systems
  • Robotics, automation, and human–robot collaboration on the shop floor
  • Digital twins, simulation, and virtual commissioning of manufacturing systems
  • AI and machine learning for engineering decision-making and operations
  • Resilience, robustness, and sustainability in Industry 4.0 environments
  • Case studies and implementation reports from industrial practice

Article types

  • Original research articles reporting novel theories, models, methods, or applications.
  • Review articles providing critical overviews of rapidly developing research areas.
  • Short communications / case studies presenting concise results or practical implementations.

Interdisciplinary contributions that connect engineering, computer science, operations research, management science, and data analytics are particularly encouraged, especially when they demonstrate clear relevance to intelligent manufacturing and Industry 4.0.
